Oh me oh My!

So, I took Skylar to the vet again today for some of her regular meds.  Well, the way it went is like this . . .
I could have just gone to pick up meds but because she isn't even four months old -she is still growing like crazy and in order to get the correct dose of her meds -they needed to weigh her so I HAD to take her w/ me.  It wouldn't have been all that crazy but she barely fits in our car!!  I had to put her in the front seat because Kryssa's car seat is in the middle back seat, which allows no room for Skylar (unless Kryssa gets trampled over by the dog -Uh uh) so the only other place was the front seat.  Kryssa had to go w/ me there was no other way.  Well, Skylar barely fit on the seat and it was driving me nuts!!  Well, I knew she was still growing and gaining weight because trying to get her in the car today nearly took all the entire day's worth of energy.
So, when I finally make it passed the doors at Pet Medical Center, we weigh her and they tell me she weighs 32lbs!!!  Geez!!  I was thinking that she would be getting close to 30 but not over 30!!!  Well, she will be five months on the 17th and I really have no idea how we are going to keep up w/ this dog.  She just has sooooo much more growing to do . . .
It was a CRAZY day.  Kryssa and I had to wake up at 6:30am w/ Chris to take him to work to keep the car.  Then we came home and I did some laundry and took care of some business over the phone.  By that time it was already 11am and Kryssa was fast asleep on the floor by where I was sitting.  I moved her upstairs, to my bed and then dealt w/ our nutty dog for a while.  Um, I had so much to do; but by the time it was 'wake up' time for Kryssa, I realized that she had a potty accident on my bed!  Ah!  So, I HAD to wake her up to clean up the mess and then I bathed her and dressed her and I had everything ready to go when the dog decided that she needed to go tinkle . . . so, I tell Kryssa to wait in the house while I took Skylar out.  Once that was done it was another adventure getting the dog situated in the car while Kryssa was fussing for juice and snack.
We take care of everything at the vet and then make our way back home -in traffic.  It was supposed to be a quick -in the house, let Skylar go potty and then back out.  Well, I took Skylar "out" and from outside, I heard Kryssa say "oh no!".  When I get inside, I see her coming towards me waddling like some kind of monkey saying "pee pee mommy!".  SHE TINKLED IN HER PANTIES!!  Which also means that her freshly bathed body and freshly ironed outfit only lasted about an hour and a half or so before I had to clean her up and change her bottoms, socks and shoes!  I was really bothered by it all.  Of all days to have accidents -her little body chose today.  She rarely -RARELY has accidents and then today it just happened that she had a whole 3 months worth of accidents all in the same day . . .
Well, then I realize how behind schedule I am -I figure I might as well just give Skylar her meds, that was the whole reason we took the trip to the vet in the first place.  So, that took me about 45 mins because Skylar kept spitting out the little pills . . .grrr!  So, I come up w/ a wonderful idea of smothering everything in peanut butter -a dog owners best friend!  Dogs love it and it is perfectly fine for them to eat it.  So, I had to break up 3 pills into fours -I poked my peanut buttery fingers in her mouth about 20 times, literally because 12 of those were for each of those little pieces of pill I broke apart.  She finally got it all down and then I washed up and got on the road again.
I took Kryssa to Grandma's house and then got to sit for only about 30 mins or so before I had to head out in traffice, once more.  I had to be at rehearsal at 7pm.  From 7-8, we worked w/ the kids choir and then from 8pm - 10:45pm or so I was singing/rehearsing.  My voice, tonight, is soooooo extremely tired!  I really need some vocal rest tomorrow; but how is that really possible w/ a almost 4 months old puppy and a 2 year old child!?
I can't believe the show is just a couple of days away . . .  This weeks is just flying by.  I am really ready, now, to go snuggle w/ my honey and get some nice rest.  My body has been going going goin since 6:30 this morning- definitely not what I'm used to . . .
Nighty night

December 7, 2006

5 years ago today

Wow, five years ago, on this date Chris and I started seeing one another.  It wasn't planned, it just kind of happened (Well, God had His plan; but I had no idea what was going to happen in the next couple of days or even months!).

On December 7, 2001, Chris and I shopped like crazy (for some little dance costumes for a kid-show) and then we just talked and talked and sang and goofed around.  The next day was the show and we went out after the show -we saw a movie, I think.  He took me out to just relax from a lot of craziness that was going on.  I know that to some it sounds silly; but I just knew something different about him -w/ all of me -I just knew he was 'the one' after just a couple of days in December (December confirmed my feelings and love for him -we had spent some time together in September; but ended up just staying friends; but after the couple of days in December, I just knew that I knew I was right to follow my heart.)  On the 11th, after he had already asking me to marry him on 3 different occassions throughout the year, I finally agreed (accepted his proposals.  I was so comfortable w/ everything about us.  There was that feeling that makes you feel like you are just going to explode w/ every GREAT emotion possible . . . I couldn't hold back anymore -I wanted to go get married right then and there; but he insisted that we have a wedding like I'd always wanted -the big fancy dress w/ the beautiful alter and pretty flowers, w/ our loved ones present . . . you know?!

On the 21st, we took a day trip to Houston for fun and shopping.  It was our first trip together and we have such wonderful memories and pictures.  We dreamt of the things we would want at our wedding and we shopped around for rings, colors and ideas . . . 7 months later we became husband and wife!!!  Aw, I love remembering all of this . . .

So, it's been 5 years since we took that 'step' in starting our relationship!  You want to know something really amazing?  During December of 2001, there was one particular night, out of the many, that we were downtown walking the river walk and talking about our lives and future.  Well, we ended up sitting at a patio table, over looking the river, and having a great conversation about the possibility of a future together —while tried to keep warm . . . After getting married, every time we would be downtown at the River Walk, we would pass that patio area and reminisce of our conversation we had 'that one night' in 2001.  Well, one of the times that we passed that patio area, Chris realized and pointed out that it was actually the backside of the Hotel where we stayed on our Wedding night.  To us it's pretty amazing how the night we sat there we had no idea that months later we would be spending our first night as husband and wife in that very Hotel.

There are other things that we love to remember -about how we had to have been meant to meet at some point because of all the previous times we passed one another up w/ out even knowing it.  Or of the time that Chris aggrevated me so much that I couldn't stand him and I didn't even know him at that time.  I had no idea that it would be him that I would later fall in love w/ and marry.  Lol.

*story of how he aggrevated me "so much":
Chris has this picture, in his high school scrap book, of himself dancing in a Beacon dance workshop.  When I saw that pic (in September 2001), while we had just started dating, he told me how he and his friend signed up for the dance workshop just to be around the girls . . . my jaw dropped and I was absolutely speechless.  I started laughing out of shock as I pointed out to him that I was just one or two girls over in that very same pic!!!  Beacon is a gifted and talented program for high schoolers (in middle school it was called Tips (I don't remember what that stood for) and in elementary it was called Prep -or Pep- and Promise) and every so often there would be Beacon workshops and fieldtrips that you could sign up for and attend.  Some events, I would just sign up for to get out of school -lol.  But this fine arts one, I signed up to really get something out of the dance workshop.  I was serious about being there.  I wore dance attire that they asked for and then these two 'dorky' guys showed up at the last minute and didn't take a single dance move seriously.  Some other girls and I were just soooo annoyed w/ them and wished they could have been kicked out because we really wanted to learn as much as possible.  At the end of the day, each workshop would present what they had learned in front of allll the other people.  So, we had a performance hall at UTSA full of other students ready to watch our performance and during the bridge of the song, we were supposed to freestyle some modern dance moves that we had learned, the two annoying boys (one of them being CHRIS!) decided to act like it was a strip dance . . . grrrrr!!!  Chris's friend was the one that ripped his own shirt off and twirled it around his head and then through it off stage.  All of us girls were so disgusted and upset -we felt that they ruined our performance.  So can you imagine how speechless I was when I saw that photo and realized that he was one of those annoying 'dorks' that ruined our workshop!!! LoL!!!

We have realized, throughout being married, all the other little things that are almost out of a movie -where the two are in the same place at the same exact time and have no idea . . . we used to go skating at the same rink at the same time on the same days -every weekend when we were in middle school.  I never noticed him because I was so caught up in my own group of friends.  He was in choir at Taft high school and I was in choir at Holmes high school and when we would go to competition Taft and Marshall were always our main competitors to beat (not that we ever did —I don't think).  We were at the same place at the same exact time competing against each other.  I even knew some people from the other choirs and I would make my way over to chit chat and say hi -but I never met or noticed him . . . it's little things like that that make me know that "What's meant to be WILL be" -my favorite saying.

I met him in 1999 through his sister -which I actually went to middle and high school with.  I even had 2 classes w/ his sister in high school and talked to her about me liking some other guy, at that particular time, and she would tell me what she thought -but I never knew she had a brother . . . the same brother that was doing a lot of the same things I was doing at the very same place and time . . .

I will never forget when she introduced me to him.  ha ha ha  It's what I believe 'love at first sight' -I loved the person that I met.  I loved the smile he gave and the attention he gave to me when I was talking to him that night.  I loved his eyes immediately -but who doesn't (even strangers come up to him just to say that he has such beautiful eyes -ha ha ha).  There was just something about him . . . a vibe, a 6th sense or something, as some people have said.  I can't always put it into words but I will Never forget that moment!

December always makes me feel all giddy and twinkly-eyed because of all the wonderful memories of our relationship (all the way from the very first time we met, to him teaching me to drive standard, driving his truck and blasting up the radio, realizing that we both LOVE Ace of Base just the same, playing in the rain while running home -I lived right behind Huebner oaks and we would walk to the stores and/or or movies and walk back.  Well, one night it just began to pour and we had a blast running through the rain and playin' around . . . what memories!!- , driving his mustang and falling in love w/ "tonto" (oh how we miss tonto! *sniffle*) Going to IHop at 7 in the morning for breakfast -lol- just being ourselves and having  a BLAST w/ whatever we were doing!)  What great, irreplaceable memories!

7 more months for our 5th year wedding anniversary . . . Aw, Praise God!!!  I love him, I love him, I LOVE HIM!!!
 Yup, You, babe

7 more hours . . .

Almost time for the festivities . . . hee hee.
Okay, so I have had one amazing day today.  It's been so special in it's own way because most of the day was just me and Kryssa.  She was super today, thank God.  I don't think I would have gotten so much done today if she would have had "one those days", you know?!  Well, 'we' (she actually did help a lot today! it made it that much more fun for me) made a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie.  I wasn't able to make my cheese cake tonight because I ran out of vanilla extract -but I have it now and I will have my cheese cake done, some time in the late morning.
Um, the turkey is stuffed and ready to be place in the oven -that needs to be done at 8am.  So, 7 more hours for that . . .
Kryssa is sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa's house and I am done in the kitchen for tonight.
Oh, we finished setting up our Christmas tree, as we watched the movie Elf.  (It's tradition for us -a christmas movie while setting up the tree. ).  Kryssa helped decorate that and it was just so wonderful!  I really enjoy just watching how much she is capable of doing . . . she can actually participate w/ the "Holiday" stuff now -how exciting.  What great memories I'll have.  Oh, I can't even imagine what she will be able to help out w/ next year . . .
Here are some pics:

LoL, I didn't even get mad or anything -how could I?  She really felt that she helped w/ the Pumpkin Pie -plus it's going to be gobbled right up tomorrow; atleast I got a 'before' picture!  She was smacking the pie w/ the whisk and really digging it in there while happily saying, "I did it! A Pumpkin Pie, Mommy.  Bate, Bate (spanish for stir/beat). . ."  So, it now has her WONDERFUL creative touch!!

Kryssa decorating her part of the Christmas tree -over and over again.  She would put them on and then take them off -over and over . . . Lots of fun though!

These must be those memories that 'mommies' never forget.  The ones that I will tell her over and over again -no matter how old she gets. . . I know my mommy has stories/memories that she loves to tell -as if it was just yesterday . . .GREAT memories.I
t's been such a wonderful day w/ Kryssa and then when Chris got home and, of course, w/ my parents (my mom was over helping me w/ the stuffings -sharing some family recipes) . . . I look forward to tomorrow!

Chris got his promotion!!  He will be the Assistant Manager at his new branch!  Wooo hoooo, Thank You Jesus!!!!
Oh, I am too excited.  This is one of the many blessings God has handed out . . . Things are just WONDERFUL!  Praise God for it all.

This calls for a celebration!!
Oooh, feel free to send some love (Congratulations!) Chris's way -if you have access to his page . . .

I should know better

Okay, so I have had several blogs about Kryssa getting into my purse and eating up all my gum.  Well, once again . . .
She came over to me all happy.  One hand full of white stuff and the other full of crumpled up paper.  She came to me and said "Here mommy.  That's trash."  So, as she placed it all in my palm, I realize that the crumpled paper is about 8 empty gum wrappers!  The other hand had all the 8 unwrapped pieces of gum -well, minus how ever many she was smacking, loudly, in her mouth.  So, she took off running when she realized that I was going to take them away from her.  She calmly said, "okay, mommy, a Syssa get TWO gums."  I told her that since she already had gum in her mouth that we would have to put the others away for "later".  She cried a bit and she actually just looked too cute.  She was smacking her gum wearing a sticker on her forehead!!  lol, What a "kid" moment.
So, I took a pic of her just for the funny little memory . . . (pic no longer available)

A dream came true

A dream came true . . . for My Love.  Christmas came early for us this year -for one particular gift.  Chris has been wanting this allllll year long and now he is in 'lala land' and all googly eyed over the new "baby" of the house -lol
So, here it is:  His first flat screen tv (picture is no longer available)

Silly Chris!  He LOVES it!!!  After they brought this home, they had to go buy a new stand to hold the Tv up and away from Kryssa's little 'curious' fingers!  So, Kryssa and Gavin are "helping" (I guess, really, they were just drumming on it and having a blast while Chris was strugglin' to get it together).  Hee hee -Little hands are the best help . . . *giggle*

So, now the only things in our living room (for now) are the couch, chair, side table and tv.  It seems so empty, like when we first moved in.  Soon, hopefully tonight or tomorrow night, the Christmas tree will go up!! Yay!
What can I say?  I'm not all for fancy tvs or whatever (when I was finally allowed to have a tv in my room, growing up at home, it was a black and white, "click click" turn the dial type tv -it was small enough to fit in my lap -get the picture?) ---but this, I can definitely get used to -hee hee.  Honestly, I was a little freaked out when I saw them walk through the door w/ that thing.  I thought it was going to be a lot smaller.  At first, w/ the way our living room was set up -I would get dizzy watching tv because it was way too close for that size screen. . .we've moved it around and are now considering purchasing a sectional couch to accommodate the new placement of the tv.  It's either the king size bed I NEED, in order to get some well needed rest, OR a new couch and chair, or sectional . . . Hm, don't know which to get.  It's a tough decision.
I love it . . . .WE love it!!
Thank you so much Poppa!!!
